New Season - April 29-30, 2000

I didn't race this weekend, 'cause I suck. Actually, there are a lot more
reasons than that, but it's the predominant one.

I don't have much to say in a race report that doesn't have any racing in
it, however, I thought I'd jot down some highlights from the weekend.

Now, of course, I have to remember them. :)

Let's see... in no particular order:

	- Ann moved up to Amateur Yellow in practice, and
altho we weren't sure if that was quite a comfortable
place to be, she seemed to be really getting into it,
after awhile. She was looking really good. Until...

	- Ann crashed in Turn 10. Oops.

	- I worked in Turn 6 with Scott Sargent on Saturday.
We had something like 10 crashes, and 3 mechanicals.

	- I worked in Turn 10 on Sunday. Ted Temple crashed
pretty hard. I'm really psyched he's okay.

	- The weather was gorgeous on Saturday, but it got
windy and cold for Sunday. Bizarre weather. I felt
like all the moisture had been sucked out of my head
by the time I got home, what with Saturday's sunburn
	  and Sunday's gusts.

	- Friday night all of the NEDODers went out for the
chinese buffet in Dave's new van. Post-dinner, I led
a shopping expedition, and got to spend way too much
time and money in Wal-Mart. Then I forgot to buy a
heater and an electric blanket, the things I actually
	  went there for. Sigh.

	- The Team Daemon canopy (yeah, the one that I bought
originally 3 years ago, back in the good old days :)
blew away in the night. Fortunately, I'd had the
(good?) sense to wake up in what felt like a hurricane
at 2:30 am and tie my teeny little crap canopy from
Wal-Mart to it, for additional "stability". Little did
I know that my el cheapo canopy would save theirs from
a certain and no doubt very grisly death at the hands
of the swamp thing a mere two hours later.

	- Tim Atwood, Dane Walther, Andy Ettinger, and Dave
Siple all got their licenses this weekend. Huge
number of new guys. Only Tim crashed, as far as I
	  know, all weekend.

	- Dane and I gave Phil the rest of the money for our
new van!!! Dane has already affectionately named it
	  "The Fuck Truck".

More details later as I remember them...
